The Black Diamond Traffic Safety Class started in 2005 to inform and refresh drivers of the laws regarding driving and road safety. This 3.5 hour class is set up as a “refresher course” for anyone who has received a citation and meets current criteria. This class answers many questions such as: “Is it legal to drive on the right side of the fog line?" and “How far in advance do I need to signal my intent to turn?”
After successful completion of the class, the City Prosecutor will file a motion to dismiss your violation; there will be no further fine or legal action and you will not have to appear at your court hearing.
DO NOT delay in applying for Traffic School. You must attend at least 2 weeks prior to your court date and classes fill up quickly. Apply after you receive your court date.

General Information
If you have been court ordered to attend a defensive driving school, this class DOES NOT qualify.
Once you have received your Court date, you can register for Traffic School at the Black Diamond Police Department or mail in your application and payment. Please note our hours are Monday through Friday 9 a.m. - 4 p.m.

BRIEF INSTRUCTIONS

• SUBMIT YOUR CITATION TO THE COURT WITHIN 15 DAYS
• THE COURT WILL ISSUE YOU A COURT DATE – ONCE YOU RECEIVE YOUR COURT DATE BY MAIL, THEN YOU MAY APPLY FOR CLASS
• APPLY FOR TRAFFIC SCHOOL IN PERSON OR BY MAIL
• THE SCHOOL FEE IS EQUAL TO THE PENALTY LISTED ON THE CITATION
• PAYMENT IS DUE UPON REGISTRATION
• PAYMENTS MAY BE MADE BY CREDIT/DEBIT, CHECK OR MONEY ORDER MADE PAYABLE TO THE “CITY OF BLACK DIAMOND”. ***CASH IS NOT ACCEPTED***
• YOU MUST ATTEND THE ENTIRE 3.5 HOUR CLASS ASSIGNED TO YOU
• CLASSES ARE HELD TWICE A MONTH. WEDNESDAY FROM 5:00 PM - 8:30 PM OR SATURDAY FROM 8:00 AM TO 11:30 AM
• THERE ARE NO REFUNDS OR RESCHEDULING OF CLASSES
• IF YOU MISS YOUR CLASS YOU MUST ATTEND YOUR ISSUED COURT  DATE
